Bizerba takes over startup in the field of bread slicing

Balingen, Germany, 10/07/2021

| With the solution portfolio from the startup jmo solution, Bizerba will also increasingly serve the bakery sector in the future. The machines from the North Rhine-Westphalian bread slicing specialist clearly stand out from the competition with their clear functionality and elegant design.

Supermarkets and bakeries are increasingly offering bread already sliced. With the 90 percent majority shareholding in the bread cutting specialist jmo solution, Bizerba is increasingly entering the bakery sector and thus optimally supplementing its own portfolio around the activities of weighing, cutting and labeling.

In addition to its own B100 bread cutter, the Balingen-based family business now offers its customers in the retail sector a free-standing machine as well as a solution that can be integrated into the counter.

The devices from jmo solution are characterized by their high-quality materials and score with self-explanatory functionality as well as minimalist-elegant design. The machines, which are completely manufactured in Germany, are robust, durable and easy to clean.

The startup was founded in 2018 by Johannes Mrotz in Witten near Dortmund on the basis of many years of working in bakery technology and a completely new approach to the topic of bread slicing.

Andreas Wilhelm Kraut, chairman of the board, CEO and shareholder of Bizerba SE & Co. KG, says: "The acquisition of the young bread slicing specialist jmo solution enables us to strategically expand our product portfolio in the field of bread slicing machines and thus strengthen our presence in the bakery sector. The existing products of jmo solution and the great technical expertise of the founder and managing director Johannes Mrotz provide us with a very good basis for developing further solutions for this segment."

Johannes Mrotz, founder and managing director of jmo solution, emphasizes: "Bizerba's participation gives us the opportunity to develop products for our customers that will set new standards. There are challenges here that we can solve much better together than alone."
